He managed to survive three full days of visits, memories, celebrations, a few speeches and lots of food. Intermittent sleep was in high demand. Some words were delivered by the old man when he thought it appropriate.

Having the opportunity to bring so many colleagues, friends, family and special acquaintances from years gone by to the present day was a special privilege. To all of you who made the journey to join Jeff on this special day – Thank you!

Inevitably this was to be a moving experience for Jeffrey, for his family, and for those who helped him along the journey of almost eighty years – his commercial life and social life. It’s probably fair to say, none of us were disappointed. Jeff rose to the occasion as we hoped he would.
